Dr. Shivani Agarwal is an assistant professor of medicine and associate director of the Fleischer Institute for Diabetes and Metabolism at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As a physician-scientist, she conducts research on social determinants of health in diabetes and tests new models of care in diabetes. She serves in elected positions on the Healthcare Disparities Committee of the American Diabetes Association, the Advocacy and Public Outreach Core Committee of the Endocrine Society, and as a delegate to the American Medical Association on behalf of the Endocrine Society. She has published her work on disparities in diabetes widely, including in The Lancet and Diabetes Care.
