November 29, 2017 (Boca Raton, FL) – CMHC has recently announced its partnership with the Doctor-Patient Rights Project, a non-profit advocacy coalition of clinicians, patients, companies, and activists aimed at restoring “the voice of doctors, nurses, and patients in medical-decision making.”
The overarching aim of DPRP is to promote a healthcare system in which doctors feel empowered to apply their training skills and expertise to drive patient care decisions. Originally founded in response to increasing levels of interference by third-parties, DPRP educates both policymakers and the general public about the critical roles of physicians and patients in making collective clinical decisions. The group also seeks to empower medical professionals and patients, while advocating for reform at the federal and state levels.
As cardiometabolic health becomes an increasingly critical facet of patient wellness—coupled with the need to address root symptoms of cardiometabolic disease—CMHC’s mutually aligned goals with DPRP include providing access to innovative and cost-effective therapies to improve patient care. Continuing its longstanding tradition of providing the latest, most current data and clinical education in cardiometabolic health, the partnership between CMHC and DPRP represents a step forward in collaboratively improving the landscape of healthcare.
